Mikado, our intimate Japanese restaurant project in downtown Shanghai, celebrated its opening night last week.

The design draws inspiration from traditional machiya architecture, creating a sequence of spaces that unfold as guests move deeper into the building.

Chef Tanaka has curated a seasonal menu that complements the architecture's emphasis on natural materials and refined simplicity.
